Why Men Often Suffer in Silence

Men experience stress, anxiety, and work-life imbalance at rates comparable to women. However, cultural norms often equate seeking help with weakness, so men are far less likely to reach out for psychological support. This silence has real consequences. Mental health struggles accumulate over time and begin to show up as:

  • Physical symptoms

  • Behavioral changes

  • Long-term health consequences

Many of these issues could have been prevented with earlier intervention. At Renew Health and Wellness, our licensed on-site therapist provides a judgment-free, confidential space. Here, men can engage with mental health support in the same practical, goal-oriented way they approach professional challenges.

A Therapeutic Approach That Works for Men

We apply proven therapeutic modalities calibrated to how men typically engage with problem-solving and self-improvement. Our approach is direct, skills-focused, and oriented toward meaningful behavioral change. These modalities include:

  1. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns

  2. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction - building awareness and emotional regulation skills

  3. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - aligning your actions with your core values

This isn't talk therapy for the sake of talking. It's a practical framework designed to deliver real results in how you feel and function day to day.

Addressing the Physical Side of Stress

Chronic stress and anxiety take a serious toll on the body. Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP addresses these physiological consequences through targeted medical management. Her approach focuses on:

  • Optimizing testosterone and cortisol balance

  • Supporting adrenal function

  • Correcting sleep disruption caused by prolonged stress

  • Restoring metabolic health affected by ongoing psychological strain

Prolonged stress accelerates biological aging and hormonal decline. Left unaddressed, it creates a feedback loop where the body's stress response becomes harder to regulate over time. By treating the body alongside the mind, we address the full picture - not just the symptoms you feel, but the underlying systems driving them.

Why Integrated Care Creates Better Results

Combining psychological and hormonal care produces compounding benefits:

  • Testosterone optimization reduces the biological burden that stress places on your nervous system

  • Psychological skill-building reduces the cognitive and behavioral patterns that keep you stuck in chronic stress cycles

We also incorporate nutritional guidance as a functional complement. Specific nutrients play a critical role in stress regulation and neurological function. Targeted dietary support enhances both your mental and physical recovery, reinforcing the work being done in therapy and through medical care.

Getting Help Is a Strategic Decision

At Renew Health and Wellness, we treat seeking support for stress and anxiety as exactly what it is: an intelligent, strategic decision. It's not a weakness. It's a performance investment in every area of your life - your work, your relationships, your health, and your future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to help you make the right decision.

Can we keep our current care team while working with you?

Absolutely. Many patients work with us alongside their existing providers. Our integrative, root-cause approach complements traditional reproductive medicine, and we're happy to coordinate with your other providers.

What's your success rate?

Our patients achieve greater than 70% pregnancy success rates, and our outcomes continue to improve as we refine our protocols. Success rates vary based on individual factors including age, underlying conditions, and how long you've been trying — all of which we discuss honestly during your consultation.

I live outside of South Dakota — can I still be seen?

Yes. Dr. Redmond is licensed for telemedicine in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Montana, Minnesota, and Wyoming, with licensure expanding to Florida and Arizona soon. You can also travel to our Sioux Falls clinic for in-person care. Fertility care often involves labs, which we coordinate with local labs near you.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance, which allows us to spend 60–120 minutes per appointment getting to the root cause rather than working within the limits of an insurance-driven system. We accept HSA and FSA payments, and we provide claim forms for potential reimbursement. Initial consultation is $250, with lab testing typically ranging from $150–$800 depending on what's needed.

Can testosterone therapy affect my fertility?

This is an important question. Standard testosterone replacement can actually suppress sperm production, so fertility optimization in men requires a careful, specialized approach. Dr. Redmond's men's health training allows her to optimize hormones in ways that support — rather than compromise — your fertility goals. This is exactly why a thorough evaluation matters before starting any therapy.
