Understanding Peptides
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — your body's natural messengers. They influence cellular function, regeneration, and hormone signaling, helping every system communicate and perform at its best.
At Renew Health & Wellness, peptides are always secondary to hormone optimization. We stabilize your foundational hormones first — including testosterone — then layer in targeted peptide support exactly where it can move the needle for you. This is never a one-size-fits-all protocol — every peptide is chosen based on your labs, your symptoms, and your goals.
Who This Is For
Is Peptide Therapy For You?
A one-on-one hormone consultation gives you the foundation. Peptide therapy is what you reach for when you're already feeling better — but you want to feel truly optimized.

01
You're not sleeping deeply, even with stable hormones
Restorative sleep is the foundation of every other system in your body. If you're still struggling to fall or stay asleep, targeted peptides can calm your nervous system and restore the deep, healing sleep your body is starving for.

02
You want to rebuild lean muscle and recover faster
Muscle preservation and growth become harder in midlife — and it matters more than ever for metabolism, strength, bone health, and longevity. The right peptides support tissue repair, joint health, and exercise recovery so you can train harder and bounce back without constant aches.

03
You're experiencing hair thinning or hair loss
Layered with our Folix Laser and exosome therapies, peptides stimulate follicle activity, improve scalp circulation, and support healthier, fuller hair from within.

04
Your libido and sexual response still feel off
Even after optimizing testosterone and other key hormones, some men need one more layer of support for desire, arousal, and performance. Peptide therapy can be the bridge.

05
You want to age with vitality — not just survive midlife
From cellular repair to circadian rhythm regulation, longevity-focused peptides support graceful aging at the deepest biological level — protecting your energy, cognition, and quality of life for decades to come.

Do I have to be on hormone therapy to use peptides?
At Renew Health & Wellness, peptides are layered on top of hormone optimization — not used as a replacement for it. Stable hormones are the foundation; peptides are the enhancement. In most cases, hormone evaluation and optimization come first.
Are peptides safe?
When prescribed by a qualified provider, sourced from a reputable compounding pharmacy, and monitored with regular labs, peptides are generally well tolerated. Dr. Redmond reviews your medical history, current medications, and goals to ensure each peptide is appropriate for you.
How are peptides administered?
Most peptides are delivered via small, subcutaneous injections (similar to insulin). Some are available as oral troches, nasal sprays, or topical formulations depending on the peptide and your preference.
How long until I feel results?
This depends on the peptide and the goal. Sleep peptides (like DSIP) can work within days. Recovery peptides (like BPC-157) typically show results over 4–8 weeks. Longevity peptides (like Epitalon and CJC/Ipamorelin) work gradually over 3–6 months. Hair-focused protocols usually need 3–6 months to show visible changes.
Are peptides covered by insurance?
No. Peptides are compounded or specialty medications and are not covered by insurance. Pricing varies by peptide and protocol and is reviewed during your consultation. HSA and FSA payments are accepted.
Can I use peptides if I have a history of cancer?
This is a highly individualized question. Some peptides are not appropriate for patients with certain cancer histories, while others can be used safely. Dr. Redmond will review your history thoroughly and, when needed, coordinate with your oncology team before recommending a protocol.
Are peptides FDA-approved?
Some peptides — like PT-141 (Bremelanotide) — are FDA-approved for specific indications. Others are prescribed off-label or are compounded by licensed pharmacies. Dr. Redmond only prescribes peptides from reputable, licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies.
Should I take the Hormones Gone Wild course first?
Absolutely — we recommend it. The course gives you the foundational education to understand your hormones, which is exactly the groundwork peptide therapy builds on. Many patients complete the course, optimize their hormones, and then layer in peptide therapy as the next step.
Do you offer telemedicine for peptide consultations?
Yes. Dr. Redmond is licensed in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Montana, Minnesota, and Wyoming for virtual consultations. In-person visits are available in Sioux Falls, SD. Licensure expansion to Florida and Arizona is coming soon.
