Preventive Care & Wellness

At Renew Health & Wellness, annual exams are far more thorough than a standard primary care visit. Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP combines the preventive care you'd expect with a deeper look at your hormonal and metabolic health. Your visit includes:

  • Pap smear and breast exam

  • Blood pressure and vitals

  • Age-appropriate cancer screenings

  • A comprehensive hormonal and metabolic evaluation

This approach is designed to catch imbalances early - at the stage when they are most treatable. You won't just be checking boxes. You'll be building a full picture of your health.

Lab work is a key part of your annual visit. Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP orders a thorough panel that looks at multiple areas of your health, including:

  • Thyroid function

  • Sex hormone levels

  • Metabolic panel and complete blood count (CBC)

  • Lipid fractionation (a detailed breakdown of your cholesterol)

  • Inflammatory markers

  • Vitamin D levels

This isn't a one-size-fits-all lab order. It's a comprehensive snapshot of how your body is functioning at every level.

Your visit also includes a detailed review of how you've been feeling. Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP takes time to ask about:

  • Energy levels

  • Sleep quality

  • Mood and mental clarity

  • Changes in your menstrual cycle

  • Sexual health concerns

These details matter. Shifts in any of these areas can be early warning signs of hormonal or metabolic conditions. By reviewing your full symptom history, Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP can identify patterns that a routine exam might miss entirely.

Pap smears are covered by insurance as part of your annual visit. Beyond that, Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP coordinates referrals for additional screenings based on your age and health history, such as:

  • Mammography

  • DEXA scanning (bone density)

  • Other age-appropriate preventive screenings

These referrals are part of a proactive, long-term health plan - not reactive care after a problem develops. Every annual visit also includes lifestyle guidance on nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management as a core part of your care, not an afterthought.

Your annual exam at Renew Health & Wellness is the starting point for a genuinely comprehensive health relationship. The goal is simple: know your body thoroughly, and act on what we find. Over time, this visit becomes the foundation for tracking your health year over year - catching changes early and keeping you ahead of conditions before they become bigger problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to help you make the right decision.

Can we keep our current care team while working with you?

Absolutely. Many patients work with us alongside their existing providers. Our integrative, root-cause approach complements traditional reproductive medicine, and we're happy to coordinate with your other providers.

What's your success rate?

Our patients achieve greater than 70% pregnancy success rates, and our outcomes continue to improve as we refine our protocols. Success rates vary based on individual factors including age, underlying conditions, and how long you've been trying — all of which we discuss honestly during your consultation.

I live outside of South Dakota — can I still be seen?

Yes. Dr. Redmond is licensed for telemedicine in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Montana, Minnesota, and Wyoming, with licensure expanding to Florida and Arizona soon. You can also travel to our Sioux Falls clinic for in-person care. Fertility care often involves labs, which we coordinate with local labs near you.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance, which allows us to spend 60–120 minutes per appointment getting to the root cause rather than working within the limits of an insurance-driven system. We accept HSA and FSA payments, and we provide claim forms for potential reimbursement. Initial consultation is $250, with lab testing typically ranging from $150–$800 depending on what's needed.

Can testosterone therapy affect my fertility?

This is an important question. Standard testosterone replacement can actually suppress sperm production, so fertility optimization in men requires a careful, specialized approach. Dr. Redmond's men's health training allows her to optimize hormones in ways that support — rather than compromise — your fertility goals. This is exactly why a thorough evaluation matters before starting any therapy.
