Losing your hair? You're not imagining it —
and you're not alone.
Hair loss in women is more common than most people realize, and it's rarely just one thing. Hormones, thyroid function, nutritional deficiencies, autoimmune conditions, medications, and stress can all play a role. At Renew Health and Wellness, we don't guess — we find out exactly what's driving your hair loss and build a plan around it.
We are proud to offer South Dakota's first Folix laser treatments, alongside a full suite of advanced hair restoration therapies — including PRP, exosomes, peptides, microneedling, and comprehensive lab-based evaluation.

What Sets Us Apart
Hair loss is multifactorial — meaning it rarely has just one cause. Injecting PRP or applying a topical without identifying and correcting the underlying driver is why so many women see temporary results, or no results at all. We investigate first, then treat.
"I can grow your hair back — but if we don't identify the source, after you stop treatment, you're going to lose that hair again."

Our integrative approach includes:
Conditions We Treat
The patterns behind women's hair loss.
DHT-Driven Hair Loss
Androgenetic Alopecia
Also called female pattern hair loss, this is caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone derivative that miniaturizes hair follicles over time. In women, this often presents as a widening part, thinning at the crown, or general reduction in hair density. DHT-related loss accelerates after menopause as estrogen levels drop. Understanding and addressing DHT is a cornerstone of our treatment planning.
Autoimmune
Alopecia Areata
An autoimmune condition in which the body's immune system attacks its own hair follicles, causing patchy or widespread hair loss. Folix laser therapy is particularly effective for alopecia areata, as it works at the cellular level to reduce inflammation and reactivate affected follicles. Treatment requires an accurate diagnosis and an approach that also addresses immune system regulation.
Stress-Related Shedding
Telogen Effluvium (TE)
This is a diffuse, stress-related shedding condition in which a larger-than-normal number of hair follicles shift into the resting (telogen) phase simultaneously, leading to significant hair loss weeks or months later.
Common triggers include:
GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide) — currently one of the most common causes we see
Postpartum hormonal shifts
Illness, surgery, or significant physical stress
Rapid weight loss or nutritional deficiency
TE is treatable and often reversible when the underlying trigger is identified and addressed.

Why is my hair falling out?
Hair loss in women has many possible causes — hormonal shifts (especially around perimenopause and menopause), thyroid dysfunction, nutritional deficiencies, autoimmune conditions, stress, and medications like GLP-1s. Identifying the specific driver is the first and most important step.
Can hair loss from GLP-1 medications be treated?
Yes. Telogen effluvium triggered by semaglutide or tirzepatide is one of the most common presentations we see. With the right combination of nutritional support, scalp treatments, and monitoring, most patients see improvement. Stopping the medication is not always necessary.
How long does it take to see results?
Hair grows slowly, and meaningful regrowth typically begins to appear around months three to six. Most patients complete the six-month initial program before evaluating long-term results.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed. You can schedule your consultation directly.
What if my previous treatments haven't worked?
This is very common, and usually means the underlying cause was not identified or addressed. We start from the beginning with a thorough diagnostic workup before recommending any treatment.
