Hormones & Metabolism

At Renew Health and Wellness, hot flashes and night sweats are not treated as an inevitable part of aging. They are clear signals that your hormonal landscape is shifting and deserves expert attention. Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP is NAMS-certified and begins your care with a comprehensive evaluation of your estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone levels. This evaluation also includes a thorough review of your symptoms, health history, and cardiovascular risk profile. From there, a personalized treatment plan is built - not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Your care is built around bio-identical and body-identical hormone therapy, delivered in the form that best matches your body. Treatment options include:

  • Oral pill

  • Patch

  • Topical cream

  • Troche

  • Injectable

These formulations work to restore the hormonal stability your body has lost. They directly calm the vasomotor system - the system responsible for triggering hot flashes. They also help correct the disrupted thermoregulation that causes night sweats.

Most patients begin experiencing meaningful relief within four to eight weeks of starting therapy, with continued improvement as hormone levels stabilize. Your progress is monitored through follow-up labs and symptom reviews. Your protocol is adjusted as needed so you feel consistently supported. Beyond symptom relief, this approach also protects your long-term health. Hormonal balance is directly linked to cardiovascular health, bone density, and metabolic function. Dr. Jennifer Redmond, CNP, DNP also addresses lifestyle factors that can amplify vasomotor symptoms - including sleep habits, stress, nutrition, and alcohol intake. At Renew Health and Wellness, you will not be told your symptoms are normal and untreatable. You will receive a personalized, evidence-based protocol designed to restore comfort and quality of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to help you make the right decision.

Can we keep our current care team while working with you?

Absolutely. Many patients work with us alongside their existing providers. Our integrative, root-cause approach complements traditional reproductive medicine, and we're happy to coordinate with your other providers.

What's your success rate?

Our patients achieve greater than 70% pregnancy success rates, and our outcomes continue to improve as we refine our protocols. Success rates vary based on individual factors including age, underlying conditions, and how long you've been trying — all of which we discuss honestly during your consultation.

I live outside of South Dakota — can I still be seen?

Yes. Dr. Redmond is licensed for telemedicine in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Montana, Minnesota, and Wyoming, with licensure expanding to Florida and Arizona soon. You can also travel to our Sioux Falls clinic for in-person care. Fertility care often involves labs, which we coordinate with local labs near you.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance, which allows us to spend 60–120 minutes per appointment getting to the root cause rather than working within the limits of an insurance-driven system. We accept HSA and FSA payments, and we provide claim forms for potential reimbursement. Initial consultation is $250, with lab testing typically ranging from $150–$800 depending on what's needed.

Can testosterone therapy affect my fertility?

This is an important question. Standard testosterone replacement can actually suppress sperm production, so fertility optimization in men requires a careful, specialized approach. Dr. Redmond's men's health training allows her to optimize hormones in ways that support — rather than compromise — your fertility goals. This is exactly why a thorough evaluation matters before starting any therapy.
